As an element of interior carpentry, classic room doors are among those products you should buy to last longer. That is why you should choose a model with a universal look. The model that fits into your interior, the one that will not “go out of fashion” so quickly.
On the other hand, the term “universal” should not be understood to mean the “same everywhere”. Although some will agree it is easier to get the same model of room door for all the rooms, it does not mean that it is the right decision. The kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom are examples of rooms whose purpose is quite different. So, the choice of room doors should be adjusted accordingly.
Room door nowadays
Unlike in the past, when there were only doors made of wood and wood products, room doors of modern date are made of PVC, aluminum, and glass. A better offer of materials has significantly changed the image of the interior of the living space. Same as the taste and preferences of end-users.
When talking about room doors and decisions made by customers anywhere in the world, there is no way I could neglect the wooden door. Wood is a raw material that has always been used for furniture and carpentry making. It will be so as long as there are forests as its source. Also, wooden doors will be in fashion as long as people love them.
Wooden classic room door
Doors made of panel materials take precedence today over doors made of solid wood. This door fully radiates the spirit of the 21st century, which promotes perfectly smooth wing lines and modern design of all accompanying components. Interior doors made of wood products are different combinations of plywood, MDF, and veneer that include a solid panel filling and panel cladding.
Combined doors, furthermore, have several quality classes, depending on the share of the highest quality panels in their composition. The lowest quality ones are from extruded plywood with an outer MDF lining, and they are accompanied by moldings also made of MDF.
Wooden and combined doors can be painted in smooth colors, in RAL tones, stained or painted in tones modeled on natural wood shades. These doors can preserve discretely visible texture or you can simply varnish them with polyurethane varnish in three layers so that the wearing surface remains in the original color of a particular type of wood.
Different categories of room doors wooden profiles
In the category of combined doors, veneered doors in dark brown color and similar tones with a vertical wood pattern are the most popular. They are often flat surfaces without crosscuts or decorative protrusions. Additionally, they have flat rectangular or slightly rounded moldings, a chrome square handle, and a rosette.
One or more glass elements can always be inserted into a room door. However, it is a recommendation that glass should serve as a decorative instrument only for living room doors and possibly for the kitchen. It is not a good solution for bedroom or guest room doors as this would only disturb their intimacy.
If it is a smaller living room, opaque single-wing doors are a better solution, and where there is a real living room of slightly larger area, the space will be complemented in the right way with double-wing veneered doors with large translucent or sandblasted glass fields.
Why are wooden room doors an excellent choice?
Wood as a material is always in fashion because wood is a classic.
